Sprinkler blow-out did not go well. Had an appointment scheduled with this company for 10am-1pm showtime yesterday. No-show until approximately 2:30pm. Did not get a phone call so I could inform my tenant that they'd need to take more time off of work to make sure someone showed up. Company did not courtesy call to say they wouldn't be there on time and 1.5hrs late. Tech arrived and did the blowout. A few hours after the blowout, around 5:30pm my tenant says there is no water to the house and the solenoids are leaking into the house. A tech came back to look and essentially undid what he previously did, I'm not certain what that was. The business manager was overheard on speakerphone ordering him to just undo all of the work and put it back. The tech left, and the water line is still charged and has the possibility of freezing. Today, I got a call from the company explaining their side and blaming the late show due to other customers' emergency needs (what's the point of a schedule if every other customer's need is deemed an emergency whereas my tenant's need is not?). The receptionist explained that since I don't have a backflow valve that a blow-out can't be done. If that's the case, and the tech (who had discovered there was no backflow valve) knew this, why was work still performed in the first place? That should be question number one when requesting service; do you have a backflow valve? No? We can't service your location. I did appreciate the call-back from the company and attempted explanation, but they basically put the blame on my tenant and contradicted everything the tenant told me about the situation and said the tenant messed things up. Cap that off with a $95.00 bill, essentially for 'attempted' service. I'll pay $95 because your company doesn't know to ask ahead of time whether a system has a backflow valve and thus can't be serviced, and because the tech still attempted to perform work anyway despite the company telling me that's not an option without the valve? Needless to say I'm not impressed and will not be calling Dr. Sprinkler again. Wasted 5 hours of my tenant's day (waiting 10am-1pm for no-show, then arrival and work at 2:30-2:50pm, then return in the evening for another hour to undo whatever it is they did that they claim they can't do in the first place...etc. Now there are suddenly noises from my water system that the company is blaming on my heater/boiler (which made zero sounds from the dawn of time up until the technician left yesterday), so I'll call another company to see if they can decipher what this company likely broke in my water system. Hopefully you get a better experience than mine. I know companies are trying to do their job but in this case, I spent $95 and got literally nothing from it.
